Aiea HS | Girls' Athletic Locker
Currently in development
Design of the very first girls’ athletic locker room at ‘Aiea High School was driven by the site and the specific campus environment. WhiteSpace created unique spaces – including therapy rooms, outdoor teaching areas, a weight-training facility, and even a competition-size wrestling room – for disparate needs and audiences within a limited footprint of 28,000 square feet.
The overall design focuses on providing connectivity through exterior pathways, maximizing natural ventilation, and improving campus accessibility. Because the site is highly sloped, the new athletic facility includes an elevator that will improve schoolwide ADA accessibility by creating a natural pathway from the main entry parking area to both the upper and lower levels of the campus.
